Christmas Dishtowel!

So last week I was over at Sugar Bee Crafts with a tutorial, so in case you missed it, here it is!

Hi! I am Mandy and I am from over at mndy.made! I recently started blogging a few months ago and I LOVE it! I love to create things and I enjoy sharing with my readers. In my blog you will find tutorials, pictures and some freebies!  I love my family and they keep me SUPER busy, but I always seem to find time to create new things! Thanks so much to Mandy here at Sugar Bee Crafts for letting me be a guest on her wonderful blog! Sugar Bee Crafts was one of the first Blogs I started following and I feel honored to be here! So I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Now for what you came here for! :)
What you will need:
Dish Towel
Christmas Fabric
Ribbon

Take your fabric and cut 2 strips (my dish towel was 10.5 in. wide so I cut my strips 11.5 x 3in.)
Then I finished the edges with my serger and ironed them under, and I sewed down the smaller edges.

Next pin the strips where you want them (I wanted mine towards the bottom), so I lined them up and pinned both sides.

Now sew the long edges down to the dish towel, make sure to back stitch so that it stays (with the ribbon there will be a lot of tugging there).

Take the ribbon and guide it through the slots (I used 2 pieces of ribbon so that I could have a bow on each side), and tie it on your oven!

 And you're done!

Thanks again to Mandy for letting be be a guest here on her wonderful blog!
If you like this, there's more over at mndy.made! Hope you come by and stay a while! Maybe you could check out my Rose Ring tutorial, my Ruffle Shirt tutorial, or my Scissors Tutorial!

Christmas Placemats

Wow, the holidays are HERE! A week from today is Thanksgiving, that's crazy! I'm so not prepared. I believe the holidays are a procrastinator's worst nightmare (at least they are mine). I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet :(
I know, I know, I need to get on that.
But for now I have a project for you!

How about some Christmas placemats?! They can help add some Christmas cheer to your table!

What you will need:
Muslin
Felt
Red, Yellow and Green Fabric
Heat N Bond
Bias Tape

I ironed the heat n bond to the fabric before I cut it
*I used my Go! Baby to cut the Christmas Trees, and my Silhouette for the stars*
I then cut squares from the HoHoHo fabric for the background on the tree (this was a last minute decision so I don't have pictures.
I then cut 8 pieces of 11 x 17 pieces of the muslin (you 2 pieces per placemat, one for the top and one for the bottom)
And cut 4 pieces of  11 x 17 pieces of the felt.
Iron the trees and the stars onto the background pieces
Then sew them down to the background piece
Next sew the piece to the corner of one piece of muslin
Sandwich the piece of felt in between a piece of muslin and the piece of muslin with the tree on it and pin the bias tape around the entire placemat
 And sew it down
 That's it!
You're done! :)

Teeny Tiny Scrunchies!

My daughter REFUSES to wear anything in her hair. I can sneak a little tiny rubber band in there to make a ponytail, but that's it! So I had to come up with a solution to this, because those little rubber bands were not cute enough! So I made some teeny, tiny scrunchies!

What you will need is:
1/4 in. elastic
Fabric
Safety pin

I cut my fabric into strips, (depending on what size you want them will depend on how big your strip is) mine are 1.5 x 4in.
Fold them long ways right sides together, and sew up the long side, leaving both sides open
Now take a safety pin and attach it to one side and pull it through the tube to make it right side out.
Cut your elastic into 3in. strips
Attach the safety pin to the elastic and pull it through the tube. I safety pinned the two ends together until I sewed it so it would stay
Now sew the elastic together
Next tuck one end under like the above picture and then tuck the other end inside it and hand stitch it together.
And you're done!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Easy Peasy Button HairPins!

With a toddler around I don't get to much time to be able to sew and create things. So I LOVE easy, quick projects! Especially if they are cute.
So I have a quick and easy, EASY, craft for you!
Cute little button hairpins!
All you need is E6000, hot glue will work too, buttons and hairpins. Yep, that's it!

Just add your E6000 to the glue pad on the end of the hairpin and glue your button down.
Now just let it dry. That's it! See I told you it was easy! :)
You can even add other things besides buttons, remember the Rose Ring Tutorial? I even made some with those!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone is having an awesome Halloween!!
Us? Not so much :(
It's pouring down rain, and so very cold. So we opted to stay inside tonight instead of going trick or treating. I did set up some containers with candy in them around the house and let little Keira fill her bucket up with candy! I think she got like 3 pieces of candy before she was bored and wanted to eat her ghost poop :)
Hopefully it stops raining soon!
But for now, i'll leave you with this:
She wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take a good picture, but as soon as it gets sunny outside I will definitely get some!

Happy Halloween!

Ok, so I think you all have figured out what one of my most FAVORITE holidays is! Halloween :)
I LOVE Halloween, and everything to do with this holiday! So it is only right for this Friday Favorites to deal with Halloween, right?! (Ok, just me?) Well one of my favorites parts about Halloween is all the costumes, I love to see what everyone comes up with, how creative they can be!
This Friday's Favorite is:

Pumpkin Patch Time!

We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend! The weather was perfect and the girls loved it so much. This pumpkin patch was on a farm, so there were animals there for the girls to look at while we waited on the hay ride to the pumpkin patch.

This was our ride to the Pumpkin Patch!

Once we got there, the girls each picked out their own pumpkins!
They had so much fun!

Clothespin Days!

I have a ton of Clothespins just lying around. They are cheap and there are many, MANY uses for them. Well I thought what about magnetic daily clothespins! :) hmmm, I guess there could be a better name for them (maybe i'll think of a good one later!) You could basically use these anywhere for anything!

So are you ready to make your own?
Here we go!
Grab 7 clothespins, a piece of cute paper, magnetic strips and some mod podge

I printed out the days of the week on a piece of paper, but you could just write it on there if you want.

Cut out the days into strips a little longer than the top of the clothespin

Mod podge the strips on the top of the clothespins, wrapping the little bit extra around the top and the bottom

Cut the magnetic strips into smaller pieces to stick on the back of the clothespins

Now stick them on your fridge!
*sorry the lighting in my TINY kitchen isn't all that great :(*

Now you can add little notes for appointments and such onto your fridge coordinating with the day!

Now go find some cute scrapbook paper and start crafting!!

Spooky Saturday! +Vampire Pumpkins

The weather here is PERFECT! I don't know about where you guys are, but here it is finally starting to cool off! So this morning I decided to take the girls to a farm so we could go on a hay ride and pick some pumpkins. We had a blast! Pictures to come :)

For this Spooky Saturday I made some Vampire Pumpkins *that you can keep*
For these you need a fake pumpkin (I got mine from the dollar store for, yep you guessed it, a dollar), vampire teeth, black paint, buttons and glue.

I used a cheap paring knife to cut a place out of the styrofoam for the teeth, and I fitted the teeth in there to make sure that they fit.

Then glue the buttons on for the eyes, you could really use any size or color for these.

Then paint the inside of the mouth with black paint

Once the paint dries, insert the teeth with some hot glue
And there you have your cheap and easy vampire pumpkin!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

These were inspired by this pin I found on Pinterest:

*they were so cute I had to put my own spin on them :)*
